Splendorleaf is a Christian praise and worship team formed in 2007 by former school teachers Brandon and Karen Hixson. The duo recorded the self-titled debut album in late 2007 and their first single, “What’s In This Love” charted at #5 on the Christian Radio and Retail Weekly Survey in April 2008 and went on to chart as the 13th most played independent song of the year. Other singles included “Saving Grace” and Eva Wilson and Ian Ferrin’s beautiful ballad “Own Me.” The album was recognized
Splendorleaf is a Christian Rock and Praise band from Central Texas formed in 2007 by the husband and wife team of school teachers Brandon (vocals and sax) and Karen (vocals) Hixson.
Other members include Kenny (guitar) and Debbie (vocal and piano) Carter, Gary Poe (bass guitar) and Pete Rios (percussion) all of Corsciana, Texas.
by IndieHeaven and The Momentum Awards in Franklin, Tennessee and was nominated for Album of The Year. Brandon Hixson was nominated as Male Vocalist of The Year in 2007 and in 2008. The name “Splendorleaf” came after the group spent time in the jungles of Ecuador doing Mission work.
Kenny (lead guitar) and Debbie (vocals and keyboard) Carter, Gary (Bass) Poe and Pete (Drums) Rios joined the band in 2008. The band released their sophomore album in 2009 title “Waiting On A Cue.” Kenny contributed the rockin’ “Take The Time.” Gary Poe’s “Jesus Is All You Need” and “Can’t Let You Go” are always concert favorites. Debbie Carter’s compositions, “I Look Up To You,” “Big Glass Wall” and “Give And Receive” are beautiful ballads.
