Godfueled was a praise and worship team boasted by the talents of lead vocalist and saxophonist Brandon Hixson, lead guitarist Preston Cave, percussionist Brandon “Heath” Cave, bassist Jeff Evans and back up vocalists, Karen Hixson and Sarah Cave. The group formed in the summer of 2000 and immediately began honing their skills to create a sound that was truly unique. They released an independent project, TWENTYFOUR.SEVEN on the Echo label and managed to reach sales of more than 1,000 and donated most all it’s sales for missions.
Godfueled enjoyed some local success and were recognized nationally with some of their music. Their song “Prayer of Wings” was featured in the April 2006 edition of the Christian Radio and Weekly Magazine, which was distributed to several thousand radio stations across the nation. They also scored four Top Ten songs on the IndieHeaven Radio Charts during the 2006 – 2007 year. The group was nominated for Rock Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for “Prayer of Wings” and lead vocalist and saxophonist Brandon Hixson, was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year for the prestigious Momentum Awards in 2007. Godfueled disbanded in 2007 after playing their last concert at the “One Mission, One Voice Music Festival” in their hometown of Dawson, Texas.
